SECURITY & PRIVACY POLICY
Your SSA Rep
Effective Date: October 2, 2026
Introduction
Your SSA Rep recognizes that individuals who seek Social Security representation entrust this practice with information of a highly personal and confidential nature. This Security & Privacy Policy sets forth the manner in which such information is collected, used, protected, and disclosed. It applies to prospective clients, clients, referral partners, and visitors to yourssarep.com.
Although Social Security representation does not carry a legally recognized privilege, Your SSA Rep voluntarily maintains standards of confidentiality comparable to those observed by attorneys, certified public accountants, and financial professionals. The representative is further bound by the Rules of Conduct and Standards of Responsibility for Representatives established by the Social Security
Administration (20 C.F.R. § 404.1740).
PART ONE: SECURITY
Security Safeguards
Your SSA Rep maintains administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect client information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Access to client information is restricted to those with a need to know in order to provide services, and safeguards are reviewed periodically as technology and risks evolve.
Secure Communications Through This Website
Communications and documents submitted through yourssarep.com, including the secure document submission portal provided for fee petitions, representation forms, and other sensitive materials, are transmitted through secure channels. Clients are encouraged to use these website tools rather than standard email when transmitting sensitive documents.
Video Conferencing
To accommodate client preference, Your SSA Rep will conduct virtual meetings using the video conferencing platform of the client’s choosing.
Please be advised that video conferencing platforms are operated by independent third parties. While Your SSA Rep will continue to treat the substance of all client communications as confidential, the collection, storage, and use of data by the selected platform are governed solely by that provider’s privacy policy and terms of service, and are outside the control of Your SSA Rep. This Security & Privacy Policy does not extend to the practices of any third-party communications provider. Clients are encouraged to review the privacy policy of their chosen platform.
PART TWO: PRIVACY
Information We Obtain
Your SSA Rep obtains all background information necessary to ascertain each benefit to which a client, and any eligible family member, may be entitled. Information is requested only to the extent it is relevant to the client’s entitlement and the services for which the practice has been retained.
Information provided by a referring financial professional, certified public accountant, attorney, or other referral partner is afforded the same protections as information obtained directly from the client.
Use of Information
Information is used solely for the purpose of providing representation and related services, including the preparation and submission of applications and supporting documentation, communication regarding the client’s matter, and the maintenance of records required by law. Your SSA Rep does not use client information for advertising or marketing purposes.
Disclosure of Information
Your SSA Rep does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose personal information to any third party for commercial purposes. Information is disclosed only under the following circumstances:
1. To the Social Security Administration, limited to the information necessary to establish, protect, or administer the client’s entitlement, or as otherwise authorized by the client.
2. To other parties, such as a financial planner, accountant, or attorney, only upon the client’s express authorization.
3. Where disclosure is required by law, including in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or other legal process.
Information received from a referral partner is not shared back with that partner beyond what is necessary to coordinate the client’s representation, unless the client has authorized such disclosure.
Artificial Intelligence
Personally identifiable information is never shared with any artificial intelligence platform or service.
Information Concerning Dependents
Certain claims require information regarding minor children or disabled adult children who may be entitled to benefits on a wage earner’s record. Such information is obtained from the parent, legal guardian, or applicant acting on the dependent’s behalf, and receives the same protections as all other client information. Your SSA Rep does not knowingly solicit information directly from a minor.
Retention and Destruction
Client records are retained only as long as necessary to complete the representation and to satisfy applicable legal and Social Security Administration recordkeeping requirements. Thereafter, records are securely destroyed.
Your Rights
Clients may request to review the information maintained on their behalf, request correction of inaccurate information, or request deletion of information, subject to applicable legal and recordkeeping obligations. Requests may be submitted through this website.
Website Usage
This website may use basic cookies and analytics to evaluate site performance. Such data is aggregated and is not used to identify individual visitors. Cookie preferences may be managed through browser settings.

Your SSA Rep may amend this policy to reflect changes in practice, technology, or law. The effective date above will reflect the most recent revision.
